Then we continue through some really amazing parts of Neretva river canyon, telling the unique stories of Herzegovina, before we arrive to our second stop – Počitelj.

Počitelj,  a hidden jewel of Herzegovina lies on a hillside that makes a kind of amphitheater and overhangs the turquoise Neretva River. Its special Ottoman architecture and Mediterranean style blend of which give this town a special dimension, makes it a real gem of architecture. This unique stone town has been inscribed in 2007 on the Unesco World Heritage Tentative List.  The fortress was built in the late 14th century upon the order of the famous Bosnian King Tvrtko but Počitelj is mentioned for the first time in writing in 1444 as the seat of the parish. Počitelj is a real, open-air museum.

Stretching over 120 meters across and tumbling down 25 meters, Kravice is one of the largest waterfalls in Herzegovina and certainly the most impressive one. The waterfalls have a natural pool dug out at the base of the falls by the constant rush of refreshing water. We will enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Trebižat River.

Our next destination is Blagaj – a haven of peace and natural harmony. In Blagaj you will see a Tekke – the Dervish Monastery, built around 1520. The monastery is an important monument of the early Ottoman period in Bosnia & Herzegovina. The dervishes have been using the monastery in order to perform their special rituals – Dhikr (praise to God). Blagaj Tekke is situated by the Spring of the river Buna, surrounded by beautiful mountains. In the silence of the Dervish house’s garden, cooled by the freshness of the wonderful river with the most spectacular view. Therefore, you will understand why Blagaj was the focus of interest of historical personalities, Roman nobility, Ottoman viziers and kadis, Austro-Hungarian officers and many travelers searching for the freshness of the water, the warmth of the sun and blue sky.

This full day excursion will take you finally to Mostar, world famous for its Old Bridge, its alleys and shops bathed with sunshine, scents and the river Neretva. Enjoy its special architecture and unique charm. The Old Brigde was originally built in stone in 1566 on orders of Suleiman The magnificent, Sultan of the Ottoman empire. It was destroyed in the war of the 90s and rebuilt in 2004. It belongs now to the UNESCO world heritage sites.
